Although most summer days are slightly humid in Quakertown, episodes of heat and high humidity can occur with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Heat_index\"><u>heat index<\/u><\/a>\u00a0values &gt; 104\u00a0\u00b0F (40\u00a0\u00b0C). Since 1981, the highest air temperature was 101.9\u00a0\u00b0F (38.8\u00a0\u00b0C) on July 22, 2011, and the highest daily average mean\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dew_point\"><u>dew point<\/u><\/a>\u00a0was 74.4\u00a0\u00b0F (23.6\u00a0\u00b0C) on August 1, 2006. The average wettest month is July which corresponds with the annual peak in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thunderstorm\"><u>thunderstorm<\/u><\/a>\u00a0activity. Since 1981, the wettest calendar day was 6.50 inches (165\u00a0mm) on September 30, 2010.<\/p><p>During the winter months, the average annual extreme minimum air temperature is \u22121.9\u00a0\u00b0F (\u221218.8\u00a0\u00b0C).<a href=\"#cite_note-USDA-7\"><sup>[<\/sup><u><sup>7<\/sup><\/u><sup>]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0Since 1981, the coldest air temperature was \u221213.7\u00a0\u00b0F (\u221225.4\u00a0\u00b0C) on January 22, 1984.
