0.1% Native American, 3.1% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian, and 1.3% were two or more races. 2.8% of the population were of Hispanic or Latino ancestry.<a href=\"#cite_note-7\"><sup>[7]<\/sup><\/a><\/p><p>As of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Census\">census<\/a><a href=\"#cite_note-GR2-8\"><sup>[8]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0of 2000, there were 12,102 people, 4,275 households, and 3,390 families residing in the township. The population density was 449.7 inhabitants per square mile (173.6\/km<sup>2<\/sup>). There were 4,370 housing units at an average density of 162.4 per square mile (62.7\/km<sup>2<\/sup>). The racial makeup of the township was 95.94%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/White_(U.S._Census)\">White<\/a>, 1.54%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/African_American_(U.S._Census)\">African American<\/a>, 0.09%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Native_American_(U.S._Census)\">Native American<\/a>, 1.08%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Asian_(U.S._Census)\">Asian<\/a>, 0.02%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pacific_Islander_(U.S._Census)\">Pacific Islander<\/a>, 0.33% from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Race_(United_States_Census)\">other races<\/a>, and 0.99% from two or more races.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hispanic_(U.S._Census)\">Hispanic<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Latino_(U.S._Census)\">Latino<\/a>\u00a0of any race were 1.46% of the population.<\/p><p>There were 4,275 households, out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.1% were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marriage\">married couples<\/a>\u00a0living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.7% were non-families. 16.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.81 and the average family size was 3.17.<\/p><p>In the township the population was spread out, with 27.2% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.4 males.<\/p><p>The median income for a household in the township was $63,178, and the median income for a family was $69,183. Males had a median income of $46,145 versus $30,566 for females. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Per_capita_income\">per capita income<\/a>\u00a0for the township was $25,800.
