The racial makeup of the township was 97.19%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/White_(U.S._Census)\">White<\/a>, 0.81%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/African_American_(U.S._Census)\">African American<\/a>, 0.40%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Native_American_(U.S._Census)\">Native American<\/a>, 0.38%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Asian_(U.S._Census)\">Asian<\/a>, 0.06%\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pacific_Islander_(U.S._Census)\">Pacific Islander<\/a>, 0.19% from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Race_(United_States_Census)\">other races<\/a>, and 0.96% from two or more races.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hispanic_(U.S._Census)\">Hispanic<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Latino_(U.S._Census)\">Latino<\/a>\u00a0of any race were 1.25% of the population.<\/p><p>There were 1,828 households, out of which 40.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.6% were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marriage\">married couples<\/a>\u00a0living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% were non-families. 17.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.21.<\/p><p>In the township the population was spread out, with 28.8% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 32.5% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 102.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.0 males.<\/p><p>The median income for a household in the township was $59,663, and the median income for a family was $70,645. Males had a median income of $43,134 versus $30,473 for females. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Per_capita_income\">per capita income<\/a>\u00a0for the township was $24,594. About 2.0% of families and 4.9% of the population were below the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Poverty_line\">poverty line<\/a>, including 3.0% of those under age 18 and 7.6% of those age 65 or over.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3f8e5aa elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3f8e5aa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Transportation<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-78ae886 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"78ae886\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5389 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/demo.netlynxinc.com\/advocatepublicadjustment\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Rockhill-Township.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"165\" \/><\/p><p>PA 313 westbound and PA 563 northbound in East Rockhill Township<\/p><p>As of 2022 there were 48.33 miles (77.78\u00a0km) of public roads in East Rockhill Township, of which 11.19 miles (18.01\u00a0km) were maintained by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pennsylvania_Department_of_Transportation\">Pennsylvania Department of Transportation<\/a>\u00a0(PennDOT) and 37.14 miles (59.77\u00a0km) were maintained by the township.<a href=\"#cite_note-PennDOTmap-9\"><sup>[9]<\/sup><\/a><\/p><p>The main highways serving East Rockhill Township are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pennsylvania_Route_313\">Pennsylvania Route 313<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pennsylvania_Route_563\">Pennsylvania Route 563<\/a>. PA 313 follows a southeast-northwest alignment following Dublin Pike across northeastern portions of the township. PA 563 follows a north-south alignment utilizing Ridge Road, Dublin Pike and Mountain View Drive across the eastern portion of the township. The two highways have a concurrency along a portion of Dublin Pike.<\/p><p>There is currently no public transportation in East Rockhill Township.<a href=\"#cite_note-10\"><sup>[10]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-34298f7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"34298f7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Climate<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d8bfe82 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d8bfe82\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/K%C3%B6ppen_climate_classification\">K\u00f6ppen climate classification<\/a>\u00a0system, East Rockhill Twp has a Hot-summer,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Humid_continental_climate\">Humid continental climate<\/a>\u00a0(<em><i>Dfa<\/i><\/em>).\u00a0<em><i>Dfa<\/i><\/em>\u00a0climates are characterized by at least one month having an average mean temperature \u2264 32.0\u00a0\u00b0F (0.0\u00a0\u00b0C), at least four months with an average mean temperature \u2265 50.0\u00a0\u00b0F (10.0\u00a0\u00b0C), at least one month with an average mean temperature \u2265 71.6\u00a0\u00b0F (22.0\u00a0\u00b0C) and no significant precipitation difference between seasons. Although most summer days are slightly humid in East Rockhill Twp, episodes of heat and high humidity can occur with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Heat_index\">heat index<\/a>\u00a0values &gt; 104\u00a0\u00b0F (40\u00a0\u00b0C). Since 1981, the highest air temperature was 101.5\u00a0\u00b0F (38.6\u00a0\u00b0C) on July 22, 2011, and the highest daily average mean\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dew_point\">dew point<\/a>\u00a0was 74.3\u00a0\u00b0F (23.5\u00a0\u00b0C) on August 12, 2016.
